Contributing to OpenRiC

Get Involved

OpenRiC supports a practical, standards-aware, and implementation-focused RiC ecosystem. Contributions are welcome.

Areas of Contribution

• Architecture and modelling — refine the dual-view model and service contracts
• Mappings and transforms — contribute mappings between archival standards and RiC-O
• Validation and SHACL rules — develop semantic validation patterns for archival data quality
• Graph and linked-data tooling — improve graph visualisation, SPARQL tooling, and linked-data publishing
• Documentation and examples — write implementation guides, tutorials, and sample datasets
• Integration with archival and GLAM platforms — help connect OpenRiC capabilities with other systems

Repository Structure

As the ecosystem matures, repositories may include:

• openric — central overview, architecture, roadmap, examples
• openric-docs — documentation site source and implementation guides
• openric-explorer — graph explorer and related UI components
• openric-mappings — mappings between archival standards and RiC
• openric-validation — SHACL, test cases, and validation tooling
• openric-examples — sample datasets, JSON-LD, SPARQL, rendering examples

All contributions fall under AGPL-3.0.
