RiC Workflow in Heratio
Automatic Sync
When you create or edit an archival description in Heratio, the RiC sync service automatically:
- Detects the change via event listeners
- Generates RiC-O triples from the description fields
- Queues the sync to the Fuseki triplestore
- Updates the graph — new nodes and edges appear in the RiC Explorer
Dual-View Mode
Every major entity page supports two modes:
- Heratio View — traditional archival description (familiar ISAD(G)/ISAAR-CPF layout)
- RiC View — relationship-centred structure showing contextual links, related agents, functions, places, and graph panel
Toggle between them with a single click. The data is the same — only the presentation changes.
Sideways Traversal
RiC makes relationships navigable. Each major page exposes:
- Related agents
- Related places
- Related functions and activities
- Related records
- Instantiations
- Provenance / context summary
- Actions: View Context, View Network
Integrity Checks
Run periodic integrity checks to ensure data consistency:
- Review any orphaned triples or missing records
- Use preview before executing cleanups
- Monitor sync status on the RiC dashboard
